What we’ll do

Departure from Tokyo
Your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby. Board a luxury, air-conditioned van for a relaxing drive to Hakone. The journey sets the tone for the day — comfortable, private, and entirely at your pace.

Scenic Drive to Hakone
We will begin the trip with one of the most scenic roads of the Fuji and Hakone region. The road itself has many panoramas and from the top observatory, there is an incredible view of all the valley, Hakone, and Fuji. Even in case of rain, it is so foggy and green that it creates an incredible atmosphere.

Mt Fuji Observation Deck
Enjoy one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Fuji and Hakone at the Mt Taikan observatory. On clear days, the volcano dominates the horizon in complete stillness — one of the most powerful natural sights in Japan.

Lake Ashi
We will then reach Lake Ashi, where we will stop at several famous Torii gates — traditional Japanese gates most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine — and at surrounding shrines along the lakeshore.

Visit Hakone Shrine
The Hakone Shrine is a Japanese Shinto shrine on the shores of Lake Ashi. It was founded in 757 and contains a Torii gate, several shrines and buildings, souvenir shops, and a museum. It is one of the most beautiful shrines in the region, lost in nature.

Traditional Teahouse Stop
Time permitting, experience local culture and taste traditional Japanese teas and snacks at a teahouse along the route. A quiet pause that connects you to the slower rhythm of Japanese daily life.

Secluded Onsen & Japanese Meal
After the scenic drive, shrines, and lake visit, it will be time to eat and relax. We will make our way to some of the most beautiful onsen Kanto has to offer. There you can eat local specialties, relax in thermal water, have a massage, or nap in the relaxation room — all recommended.

Additional Road Exploration
After lunch, if time permits, we will pass by a second iconic road of the Fuji and Hakone region. It allows an even closer view of Fuji, Lake Ashinoko, and even the sea. There are four breathtaking panoramas along the road and we will stop at each of them.

Hakone Open Air Museum
After lunch and relaxation at the onsen, we can visit the open-air museum if you choose. It holds collections of artworks by Picasso, Henry Moore, Taro Okamoto, and many others, featuring over a thousand sculptures within 70,000 square meters of green garden — mesmerizing and relaxing for all ages.

Pola Museum of Art
If the weather isn't cooperative, or if you are curious about both, we will visit Pola Museum. Nestled in a beech forest in the wooded mountains of Hakone, its award-winning architecture harmonizes beautifully with nature. The collection includes world-class Western and Japanese paintings, ceramics, and impressionist works.

Return Drive to Tokyo
Conclude your adventure with a final scenic drive back to Tokyo. Arrive in the evening with unforgettable memories, dropped off directly at your hotel.
