From Tokyo: Private Motorcycle Day Tour – Mt. Fuji and Hakone
Overview
Embark on an exhilarating journey through Japan’s timeless landscapes on a motorcycle adventure tailored just for you. Begin your day in Tokyo, where you have the option to ride pillion behind an experienced guide or rent your own motorcycle for a more personalized experience. As you navigate the winding roads of Hakone, renowned for its mineral-rich hot springs, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji, the Izu Peninsula, and the serene Lake Ashi.
A highlight of the tour is a visit to the historic Hakone Shrine, where centuries-old torii gates emerge gracefully from the waters, nestled among tranquil forests. If time permits, we’ll stop at a traditional teahouse to savor local delicacies before heading to a secluded onsen. Here, you can immerse yourself in Hakone’s famed healing waters, providing a sanctuary of relaxation after an invigorating ride.
Your experience continues with a carefully selected local meal, blending authentic flavors with the artistry of Japanese cuisine. In the afternoon, choose your own adventure — either unwind further in the thermal baths and indulge in a massage, or explore cultural treasures like the Hakone Open-Air Museum or the Pola Museum of Art. We can also spend more time on the road, discovering some of the nicest and well-maintained Fuji roads. Every moment of this day promises excitement, serenity, and a deep connection to Japan’s natural and cultural heritage, all from the unique perspective of a motorcycle journey.
As this is a private tour, you can tailor every step and detail to your preferences, or leave it up to us.
What we’ll do

Departure from Tokyo
Your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby and begin the bike ride with you: safety briefing, route overview, and vehicle orientation.

Scenic Drive to Hakone
We will begin the trip with one of the most scenic roads of the Fuji/Hakone region. The road itself has many panoramas and from the top observatory, there is an incredible view of the valley, Hakone, and Fuji. Even in case of rain, it is so foggy and green that it creates an incredible atmosphere.

Lake Ashi
We will then reach Lake Ashi, where we will stop at several famous Torii Gates — traditional Japanese gates most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine — and Shrines.

Visit Hakone Shrine
The Hakone Shrine is a Japanese Shinto shrine on the shores of Lake Ashi, founded in 757. It contains a Torii (red gate), several shrines and buildings, souvenir shops, and a museum. One of the most beautiful shrines in the region, completely lost in nature.

Traditional Teahouse Stop (Time Permitting)
Relax in mineral-rich hot springs. Option for massages and additional spa treatments. Enjoy a meal at a carefully selected restaurant featuring authentic cuisine.

Secluded Onsen & Japanese Meal
After the highway trip, scenic road, shrine and lake visit, it will be time to eat and relax. We will make our way to some of the most beautiful onsen Kanto has to offer. There you can eat local specialties, relax in the thermal water, have a massage, and even nap in the relaxation room.

Additional Road Exploration (Time Permitting)
If time permits, we will pass by a second iconic road of the Fuji/Hakone region for an even closer view of Fuji, Lake Ashinoko, and the sea. There are 4 breathtaking panoramas along the road and we will stop at each of them.

Hakone Open Air Museum
Time to visit the open-air museum, holding collections by Picasso, Henry Moore, Taro Okamoto, and many others — featuring over a thousand sculptures within 70,000 square meters of green garden. Mesmerizing and relaxing for adults and children alike.

Pola Museum of Art
If the weather isn't kind, visit the Pola Museum nestled in a beech forest in the wooded mountains of Hakone. Its award-winning architecture houses a world-class collection of Western and Japanese paintings, ceramics, and impressionist works.

Return Drive to Tokyo
Conclude your adventure with a final scenic drive back to Tokyo. Arrive in the evening with unforgettable memories of Japan's mountain roads.
